Screen Talent Europe ist a network of northern European film workshops, founded in 2014. FFHSH's Filmwerkstatt Kiel is one of 15 partners from seven countries.
The goals of the network are to bolster young filmmakers in northern Europe, to intensify the exchange between the partner institutions, and to build an international co-production platform for young filmmakers in the north. In addition to regular networking meetings, Screen Talent Europe offers international programmes of meetings and master classes at various Scandinavian film festivals.
»With Screen Talent Europe, we want help filmmakers under 35 become more professional, stronger, and present and network them internationally as early as possible«, says Arne Sommer, head of Filmwerkstatt Kiel. He adds that an exchange between the film workshops is of primary importance, but it is also important to foster contact between the filmmakers themselves. Documentary film camps have been held as part of Screen Talent Europe since 2015. The next documentary film camp will be held on the Norwegian Lofoten Islands.
