Nordic NEST: Apply now for Kick-Off

Filmfest Hamburg Industry Days 2026

The second edition of the Nordic NEST is around the corner! MOIN Film Fund and the Five Nordics, together with the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and the German Producers Alliance, are inviting 40 experienced producers from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland to the kick-off event in Hamburg.

"Climate visions" for a better future?

First sustainability study completed in Hamburg

Climate change is progressing inexorably - but our society is less and less willing to fight for consistent change. Can entertainment media persuade us to believe in this change again? And how does a message need to be packaged in order to be successful in the long term? Communication scientist Dr Daniel Possler investigated these questions as part of a research grant awarded last year by MOIN Film Fund together with PlanetNarratives. Shot in Nepal, edited in Hamburg, world premiere in Cannes

"Elephants in the Fog"

Until now, Nepalese filmmaker Abinash Bikram Shah has mainly made a name for himself with short films and as a Script Writer, but now he is making his feature film debut with "Elephants in the Fog". The film was edited by Andrew Bird and Paris J. Ludwig in Hamburg Altona. Lübeck-based zischlermann filmproduktion and Cologne-based Die Gesellschaft DGS are significantly involved. The film will celebrate its world premiere in Cannes in May.

Nordic NEST Winners in Cannes

Die Nordic NEST-Jury hat entschieden: Mit „Cargo Crime“ von Autorin Valeria Richter aus Dänemark, „Deeper“ von Eva-Maria Koskinen aus Finnland und „White Noise“ von Stefanie Ren aus Deutschland wurden anlässlich der Filmfestspiele von Cannes die drei Gewinnerprojekte der ersten Nordic NEST-Runde bekanntgegeben. Alle Projekte werden sowohl aus den nordischen Ländern als auch aus Deutschland produziert und bekommen für die Drehbuchphase eine zusätzliche Förderung von bis zu 60.000 Euro je Projekt.
